
A recent meeting between the Mufti of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan Abdulaziz Kary Zakirov and the Mufti of the Republic of Altai Janbolat Azhy Okhtaubaev took place with the active participation of the press service of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan.
During the discussion, the parties focused on the situation of Muslims in the Altai region, noting the growing interest in Islam among the local population. Janbolat Azhy Okhtaubaev expressed a desire to develop cooperation with the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan, emphasizing the importance of experience exchange and joint educational projects.
Particular attention was paid to the upcoming holy month of Ramadan (Orozo ayi). The Altai delegation requested to send three Quran reciters from Kyrgyzstan to conduct Khatm during Tarawih prayers and to provide assistance in educating the youth of Altai in religious educational institutions of Kyrgyzstan.
The Mufti of Kyrgyzstan, in turn, noted the positive trend in the development of religious life in the Republic of Altai and confirmed his readiness to expand cooperation, as well as being open to joint work in the field of education, training specialists, and knowledge exchange.
