According to the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, a month-long campaign will start in February aimed at identifying risk factors for non-communicable diseases among men over 18 years old. As part of this campaign, it is recommended to seek preventive medical consultations at primary healthcare organizations, such as family medicine centers, general practice clinics, and feldsher-midwife stations.

Based on the results of last year's campaign, the Ministry of Health reported high figures: over 973,000 men underwent preventive screening across the country. Elevated blood pressure was detected in 12% (over 119,600 people), 5% (49,600 men) were found to be at high risk for cardiovascular diseases, and 6% (about 60,800) were noted to be at high risk of developing diabetes.

In 2025, for the first time, 15,388 individuals were registered with a diagnosis of "hypertension," and 7,364 with a diagnosis of "diabetes." The Ministry of Health also noted that cardiovascular diseases were the cause of 16,644 deaths among the adult population of Kyrgyzstan in the same year.

The "Be Responsible!" month was launched in 2019 as part of a project funded by the Swiss government called "Effective Management and Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases in Kyrgyzstan." Since then, the campaign has been held annually under the auspices of the Ministry of Health of the KR.

Non-communicable diseases, such as cardiovascular and oncological diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, and diabetes, are chronic conditions. The main preventable risk factors include poor nutrition, smoking, alcohol abuse, and lack of physical activity.
