The Border Service reminded about the rules for the stay of citizens of Kazakhstan in Kyrgyzstan
The relevant changes are based on the new regulations concerning the stay of foreign citizens, which were approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 541 on October 10, 2023.
Key points:
• Visa-free regime — 90/180.
Citizens of Kazakhstan will be able to stay in Kyrgyzstan for up to 90 days within any 180-day period, starting from the date of their first entry.
• How the duration is calculated.
All days of stay are summed up and do not reset upon re-crossing the border. A new counting period will begin only after an uninterrupted absence from Kyrgyzstan for 90 calendar days.
• Registration.
During the first 30 days, registration at the place of stay is not required. Staying for more than 30 days implies mandatory registration.
• Responsibility for violations.
If a foreigner remains in the country for more than 90 days without registration, they will be prohibited from re-entering Kyrgyzstan for a period of 90 days.
• Extension of stay.
Legal stay in the country can be extended with the appropriate documents, such as registration, residence permit, temporary residence permit, as well as statuses like "Kairylman," "Meken-kart," "Resident-card," and other documents provided for by international agreements.
The Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic also noted that similar conditions apply to citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in Kazakhstan.
