The Border Service of the GKNB reminded about the new rules for the stay of Kazakh citizens in Kyrgyzstan
These changes were made to the Regulation on the Procedure for the Stay of Foreign Citizens, which was approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 541 dated October 10, 2023.
According to the updated rules, citizens of Kazakhstan can stay in Kyrgyzstan without a visa for 90 days within a 180-day period, starting from the date of their first entry. It is important to note that all previously used days of stay will be counted with each border crossing and will not be reset.
The counting of the stay period will restart only if the citizen of Kazakhstan has not been in Kyrgyzstan for 90 consecutive calendar days, as clarified by representatives of the Border Service.
Additionally, for the first 30 days of stay, Kazakhstani citizens are exempt from mandatory registration at their place of residence. However, if they plan to stay in Kyrgyzstan longer than the specified period, registration becomes mandatory.
If a citizen of Kazakhstan remains in the country for more than 90 days without registration, their subsequent entry will be restricted for 90 days.
To extend their legal stay in Kyrgyzstan, one of the following documents is required: registration at the place of stay, residence permit, temporary residence permit, "Kairylman" status, "Meken-kart," "Resident-card," or other documents provided for by international agreements to which the Kyrgyz Republic is a party.
It is worth noting that similar rules are also in effect in the Republic of Kazakhstan for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.
