A new tram line will connect the 12th microdistrict with the city center and will further lead to the Osh market, according to information provided by the city authorities.
This route aligns with the General Development Plan for Bishkek, developed until 2050.
“The tram line is planned to run along Aaly Tokombaev Avenue from the 12th microdistrict to the center and then along Kyiv Street to the Osh market,” the city hall stated.
In addition, the city authorities commented on the citizens' initiative to create a tram line that covers all of Bishkek.
“The General Plan includes routes that cover areas with the highest population density and are aimed at ensuring connectivity with the city center. Thus, a tram line running around the city would not be able to effectively carry passengers,” the city hall explained.
