The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, has signed a law ratifying the exchange of notes between the government of the country and Japan. This document pertains to the project for the reconstruction of the bridge over the Naryn River on the Bishkek - Osh highway. The goal of the project is to improve transportation links with the international Trans-Caspian route and to conclude a grant agreement with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

As part of the project, a new 210-meter bridge is planned to be built in the Toktogul district of the Jalal-Abad region, which will replace the existing structure built in 1964.

The Japanese government will provide a grant of 21.5 million dollars to Kyrgyzstan, while the republic will contribute its share of 113,300 dollars from the budget.

The implementation of this project will significantly increase the capacity of the vital Bishkek - Osh road, reduce travel time for both freight and passenger vehicles, and strengthen the region's connections with the Trans-Caspian international route.

The law will come into effect 10 days after its official publication.
