The Seoul Central District Court has issued a ruling in the case against Yoon Suk-yeol, the former president of South Korea, accused of organizing a coup. This was reported by the "Renhap" agency.

Although the prosecution insisted on the death penalty, the court sentenced him to life imprisonment.

Recall that in early December 2024, Yoon Suk-yeol declared a state of emergency, citing the need to combat "pro-North Korean anti-state forces." This decision was overturned by parliament just a few hours later. Shortly after, lawmakers voted for the impeachment of the president, resulting in Yoon Suk-yeol being removed from power and later arrested.
