Today, February 12, a vote was held among the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, resulting in Marlen Mamataliev being elected as the new speaker. He was the only candidate for this position.
The voting procedure was secret and took place quickly. A total of 83 deputies participated, of which:
77 voted in favor; 5 voted against.
It should be noted that the resignation of the previous speaker, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, was officially announced only this morning, and he left of his own accord.
