The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced the extension of the licensing period for taxis until July 1, 2026, as reported by the press service of the ministry.

It is worth reminding that the licensing of passenger transportation by cars was initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs on September 12, 2025. According to the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution, drivers were required to obtain the necessary permits by February 1, 2026.

Despite multiple reminders from the Ministry of Internal Affairs about the need to timely obtain licenses, by December 2025, the number of drivers who had received permits remained extremely low.

Currently, the departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are actively working on licensing in all regions of the country.
More than 8,000 citizens and 300 legal entities have already obtained licenses.
In response to citizens' appeals, the ministry decided to extend the taxi licensing period until July 1, 2026.

Licenses are issued in all departments of the Main Department for Ensuring Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
