The licensing of passenger transportation activities using cars began on September 12, 2025, according to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to a resolution from the Cabinet of Ministers, the deadline for obtaining licenses was extended until February 1, 2026, which was announced on December 3, 2025.
Drivers have been repeatedly reminded of the need to timely obtain licenses.
However, by December 2025, the number of licenses issued remained low.
Currently, licensing is actively being conducted in all regions of the Kyrgyz Republic, and more than 8,000 individuals and 300 legal entities have already received licenses.
Considering the appeals from citizens, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has decided to extend the licensing period for taxis until July 1, 2026.
At present, the issuance of licenses is being carried out in all departments of the Main Department for Road Traffic Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
