As of September 12, 2025, the process of taxi licensing began, and earlier, on December 3, 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the deadline for obtaining licenses until February 1, 2026.
Despite repeated warnings to drivers about the necessity of obtaining licenses in advance, by December 2025, the number of issued permits remained low.
Currently, units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs across the country are working on licensing in an intensified mode. To date, more than 8,000 citizens and 300 legal entities have already received licenses.
Considering the appeals from citizens, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has decided to extend the licensing period until July 1, 2026.
Licenses are issued in all units of the Main Department for Road Traffic Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
