Trump imposes 25% tariffs on countries that cooperate with Iran

“Starting today, any country that does business with the Islamic Republic of Iran will be required to pay a 25 percent tariff on all commercial transactions with the United States. This decree is final and not subject to discussion,” Trump’s statement reads.
According to information from Bloomberg, among Iran's main trading partners are countries such as India, China, and Turkey.
Earlier, media reported that the White House, together with the U.S. military, is considering various options for action regarding Iran to support the protesters. The U.S. President is exploring different measures against Iran in light of the harsh crackdown on protests, including the possibility of airstrikes; however, his press secretary, Caroline Levitt, noted that the priority option is diplomacy.
According to the latest data, protests have spread to 585 locations in 186 cities (in 31 provinces) of Iran, and the number of detainees has exceeded 10,000 people.
It is worth noting that the country has been without internet for more than three days. Mass protests, triggered by the economic crisis and the fall of the national currency, have been ongoing since late December 2025.
