The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic informs about the tightening of visa requirements by the USA for Kyrgyz citizens
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic informs that starting from January 21, 2026, additional requirements will be introduced by the USA for Kyrgyz citizens wishing to obtain non-immigrant visas of categories B-1/B-2 (for business trips and tourism).
According to the official information from the U.S. Department of State, citizens of Kyrgyzstan will now be required to pay a financial deposit ranging from $5,000 to $15,000. The specific amount will be determined by the consular officer during the interview.
Procedure for processing: upon the consul's instruction, the applicant must fill out Form I-352 of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and confirm their agreement to make the deposit through the Pay.gov resource.
Key points:
Making a deposit does not guarantee automatic visa approval.
If a citizen violates the terms of their stay in the USA or changes their immigration status, the deposit amount will not be refunded.
These new rules apply only to applications submitted after the changes come into effect.
Border crossing restrictions: citizens who receive a visa with a deposit may enter the USA only through the following international airports:
Logan International Airport in Boston (BOS);
John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York (JFK);
Dulles International Airport in Washington (IAD).
Failure to comply with these conditions may result in denial of entry or visa cancellation.
The American side explains the introduction of these measures by the high level of visa regime violations among citizens of Kyrgyzstan. In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic strongly recommends that citizens familiarize themselves with the new requirements in advance and strictly adhere to U.S. immigration laws to avoid undesirable consequences.
