For citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, a visa deposit has been introduced when processing entry documents to the USA.

Starting January 21, 2026, citizens of Kyrgyzstan wishing to obtain non-immigrant B-1/B-2 visas for travel to the USA will be required to pay a refundable deposit. The amount of this deposit ranges from $5,000 to $15,000. This information was published on the website of the U.S. Department of State in a document available via the link.
The deposit payment will be made only through the U.S. Department of the Treasury's system. The consul will provide a payment link after the interview.
It is important to note that paying the deposit does not guarantee the issuance of a visa.
Additionally, holders of visas issued with a deposit will be able to enter and leave the USA only through three designated airports: Logan in Boston, John F. Kennedy in New York, and Dulles in Washington, D.C.
It should be reminded that the visa deposit program was launched by the U.S. Department of State in a pilot mode in August 2025, initially affecting citizens of Malawi and Zambia. Starting January 1, 2026, a similar requirement will be applied to citizens of Turkmenistan, and from January 21, 2026, to citizens of Tajikistan. This decision was made in response to frequent violations of the duration of stay on B-1/B-2 visas.
