The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic clarified the new U.S. visa requirements for citizens of Kyrgyzstan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic explained the new U.S. visa requirements for citizens of Kyrgyzstan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reports new additional requirements regarding the application for non-immigrant visas of categories B-1/B-2 (tourist and business) for entry into the United States. These changes will take effect on January 21, 2026.

According to the latest data from the U.S. Department of State, citizens of a number of countries, including Kyrgyzstan, will be required to provide a financial guarantee ranging from $5,000 to $15,000. The specific amount will be determined by the consular officer during the interview.

In addition, applicants will need to provide Form I-352 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security only at the request of the consular officer and confirm their agreement to the terms of the guarantee through the online service of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Pay.gov.

It is important to consider the following points:

- providing a guarantee does not guarantee the issuance of a visa;

- the guarantee is non-refundable in case of a change in immigration status or exceeding the length of stay in the U.S.;

- the new rules apply only to applications submitted after the changes come into effect.

For citizens who obtain a visa with a financial guarantee, a mandatory condition will be entry and exit from the U.S. exclusively through designated airports:

- Logan International Airport in Boston (BOS);

- John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York (JFK);

- Dulles International Airport in Washington (IAD).

Violation of these requirements may lead to denial of entry or problems with leaving the country.

It should be noted that the inclusion of certain countries in this list is due to a high level of visa regime violations recorded among citizens of these countries.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic strongly recommends that citizens planning trips to the U.S. familiarize themselves with the new visa requirements in advance and strictly comply with all conditions to avoid violations of visa and immigration legislation.
