The deputy requests to preserve the Botanic Garden in Bishkek instead of constructing football fields on its territory.

Deputy Dastan Bekeshev expressed his opinion on the necessity of preserving the Botanical Garden in Bishkek during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on January 14, calling it the "lungs of the city."
He pointed out that a resolution aimed at preserving and developing the Botanical Garden was adopted in May 2022, but according to him, no actions have been taken. "In other countries, Botanical Gardens are expanding and developing, while we are being offered to build football fields. This garden was created for scientific research. What kind of biodiversity can exist in such conditions?" the deputy noted. Bekeshev added that he supports the development of football sports, but does not believe it should happen at the expense of the Botanical Garden. "There are other suitable places for football fields," he emphasized.

In his speech, the deputy also called on the president to pay attention to this issue.

The Botanical Garden in Bishkek is located in two places: on Gorky Street and on Akhunbaev Street.
