
Nurgazy Nishanov, a former deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, and Nazgul Aydarova, the director of the company "Region Oil," have been placed in a temporary detention facility following interrogations.
According to sources in law enforcement agencies, the detention of Nishanov, who held the position of chairman of the board of OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz," and Aydarova is part of an investigation into a criminal case related to corrupt activities.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs previously reported the initiation of a criminal case under Article 336 (Corruption) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which concerns possible offenses related to the activities of OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz."
The investigation was initiated based on video materials published by the State Tax Service, which under the title "Oil for Themselves: How 'Kyrgyzneftegaz' Was Ruined" contains information about possible illegal actions by the company's officials.
