On March 17, information about the alleged interrogation of Tai-Muras Tashiev regarding the corruption case at OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz" appeared on social media and news resources in Kyrgyzstan.
It is worth reminding that the Ministry of Internal Affairs previously reported the initiation of a criminal case under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning corrupt actions at OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz".
The reason for initiating the case was video materials published by the State Tax Service, which discussed possible criminal actions by officials of the company in an investigation titled "Oil for Themselves: How 'Kyrgyzneftegaz' Was Ruined".
The investigation suggests that employees of OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz" may have abused their powers by colluding with other companies to create illegal schemes for the sale and distribution of fuel and lubricants. The Ministry of Internal Affairs also noted that the rise in fuel prices in the country has created favorable conditions for the unlawful activities of some related companies seeking to gain illegal profits.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing with the participation of specialists from the State Tax Service.
