In Bishkek, a man extorted $50,000 from a resident of the capital to avoid filing a complaint against her husband.
According to information provided by the agency, a woman named Z.S. contacted the First May District Department of Internal Affairs for help due to threats from a citizen A.I. Preliminary data indicates that A.I. learned about the detention of the applicant's husband by the State Committee for National Security on March 2, 2026, and began threatening her with filing a complaint against her husband, as well as blackmailing her, claiming that the situation could worsen after his appeal.
The investigation established that A.I. demanded $50,000 from Z.S. to refrain from taking further actions that could negatively affect her husband's situation.
A criminal case has been initiated against A.I. under Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (extortion). During investigative activities, he was caught red-handed receiving $30,000 from Z.S.
At the moment, the suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility, and the investigation is ongoing.
