A man suspected of extorting a sum of 50,000 US dollars was detained in Bishkek. A statement was submitted to the law enforcement agencies of the Pervomaisky district by a citizen Z.S., in which she requested action against a person named A.I.
According to preliminary data, A.I. began to threaten the complainant after learning about the detention of her husband by the GKNB officers on March 2, 2026. He blackmailed the woman, stating that if she did not comply with his demands, her husband's case could take a more serious turn.
The investigation established that A.I. intended to obtain a large sum of money. He demanded 50,000 US dollars from Z.S., promising that otherwise he would continue actions that could negatively affect her husband's situation.
In connection with this incident, the investigative service of the Pervomaisky district internal affairs department opened a criminal case under Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic on extortion. During operational-search activities, A.I., born in 1971, was caught red-handed while receiving 30,000 US dollars from the victim.
The detainee has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek city police department.
