A district officer was detained on suspicion of extortion for "protection" of foreigners.
According to available information, on January 21 of this year, the SCNS, together with the Internal Investigation Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, detained the district inspector of the GOM-3 of the Osh City Police Department, Lieutenant U. O. Sh., at the scene of the crime.

According to the investigation, the detainee acted on a "systematic basis," threatening foreigners working in Osh who lacked the necessary permits. He received amounts ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 soms monthly for so-called "protection." In case of refusal, he threatened fines and possible deportation.
After the arrest, the district inspector was placed in the temporary detention facility of the SCNS. Currently, efforts are ongoing to identify other possible accomplices and facts of their illegal activities, as stated in the report.
