A journalist suspected of inciting mass riots has been detained in Bishkek, as reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
According to law enforcement agencies, on March 9 of this year, during monitoring of social networks, an account under the name "Daniil Zhooshbaev" was identified on Facebook, which published materials criticizing the work of state structures and aimed at undermining the authority of the government, contributing to the escalation of the socio-political situation.
Moreover, in the comments to some posts from this account, messages were posted that could lead to the destabilization of public order and mass riots.
The investigative service of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek has initiated a criminal case under Article 278 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan (Calls for mass riots) in this regard.
As a result of operational-search activities, officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State National Security Committee were able to identify and detain the owner of the fake account, who turned out to be journalist A.A., born in 1976. On March 10, during a search of her residence, various technical devices and items significant for the investigation were seized, including mobile phones, tablets, laptops, a video camera, and documents.
As of now, March 11, the suspect A.A. has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek, and investigative activities are ongoing.
