Detention of journalist Altynai Arstanbekova: comment from the Ministry of Internal Affairs
In Bishkek, a journalist has been detained on suspicion of disseminating materials containing calls for mass riots. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to available information, on March 9, during monitoring of social networks, an account under the name "Daniil Zhooshbaev" was identified on the Facebook platform. This account was used to publish materials that questioned the actions of the authorities of Kyrgyzstan and could exacerbate the socio-political situation.

Additionally, in the comments to some publications, there were messages that could potentially lead to destabilization of the situation and incite mass riots.

In this regard, the investigative authorities of the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek initiated a criminal case under Article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning "Calls for mass riots."

Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Committee for National Security, conducting operational-search activities, established that the fake account belongs to a journalist born in 1976, whose initials are A.A. She was detained.

It has become known that she is Altynai Arstanbekova.

On March 10, a search was conducted at her residence, during which, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, mobile phones, tablets, laptops, a video camera, documents, and other items significant for the investigation were seized.

On the following day, March 11, the suspect was placed in the temporary detention facility of the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek. Relevant examinations have been appointed, and investigative actions are ongoing.
