On March 9, as a result of monitoring social networks, law enforcement agencies discovered that materials critical of the activities of government bodies and structures were posted on the account named "Daniel Jooshbaev" on Facebook. These publications also aimed to discredit the authorities and exacerbate the socio-political situation, as reported in the press release of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Investigative authorities established that comments on several posts from this account contained messages capable of destabilizing the situation in society and provoking mass riots.
In this regard, a criminal case was initiated under Article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning calls for mass riots.
As a result of operational-search activities, journalist A.A., born in 1976, who is the owner and user of the fake account "Daniel Jooshbaev," was identified and detained.
Relevant examinations have been appointed regarding the publications made by the suspect through the fake account.
On March 10, during a search at A.A.'s residence, mobile phones, tablets, a laptop, a video camera, documents, and other items significant to the case were seized.
On March 11, A.A. was placed in the temporary detention facility of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek.
