Sources noted that Kamchybek Tashiev was relieved of his position as chairman of the GKNB, while his subordinates were also removed from their posts across the country. Among them was the head of the GKNB for Bishkek, Eldar Jakypbekov, who was immediately arrested, and the head of the GKNB for Osh and the Osh region, Salmoor Jumabekov. Following these events, citizens engaged in various businesses, as well as officials of different levels, began to approach the prosecutor's office.
“Just last week, about 500 complaints were received regarding the actions of GKNB employees. Currently, all statements are under review,” the sources added.
On February 10, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, signed a decree relieving Kamchybek Tashiev of his duties as Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Chairman of the State Committee for National Security.
Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov was appointed as the acting chairman of the GKNB.
In addition, three deputy chairmen of the GKNB were dismissed.
On February 14, there was a change in the leadership of the Main Department of the GKNB for Bishkek: Ulan Biibosunov was appointed to the position instead of Eldar Jakypbekov. On February 15, Jakypbekov was detained.
On February 16, Salmoor Jumabekov was removed from his position as head of the Main Department of the GKNB for Osh and the Osh region.
