Suspect Detained in Case of Unpaid Wages at Small Hydropower Plant Construction
According to law enforcement agencies, on December 26, 2025, a resident born in 1989 filed a collective complaint with the internal affairs department of the Moscow district. He indicated that an individual born in 1993 had been hiring workers since 2024 to carry out concrete work on the construction of the small hydropower plant in the Ak-Suu gorge. Despite a set salary of 50,000 to 60,000 soms per month, payment for December 2025 was not made.
The investigation established that approximately 7,200 cubic meters of concrete work had been completed during the specified period, and the total amount received from the client was over 43.4 million soms, of which more than 3.1 million soms went to pay taxes.
A criminal proceeding has been initiated in this case under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning "Fraud." The suspect has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. The investigation is ongoing.
