
In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, an incident occurred involving a police officer who, in collaboration with a woman, extorted money from a man in a case related to allegations of rape. This was reported by the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) of Kyrgyzstan.
On January 17, 2026, GKNB officers, together with the Internal Security Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (SVR MVD), detained police lieutenant A.E.B. and his accomplice T.A. They were caught red-handed while receiving a sum of 350,000 soms from a man, Ch.M., who had filed a complaint about the extortion (part 2 of article 208 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan).
According to the case materials, the extortion occurred under the threat of accusing Ch.M. of raping T.A. In this regard, T.A. and police officer E.A. demanded the specified amount of money to make a favorable decision regarding the case.
According to the decision of the Lenin District Court of Bishkek, T.A. and E.A. were placed in the pre-trial detention center of the GKNB of Kyrgyzstan.
