Bringing a Soldier to Suicide: Military Prosecutor Conducted an Arrest

In the Jalal-Abad region, a serviceman suspected of driving his comrade to suicide has been detained, local media reports, citing information from the Military Prosecutor's Office.

A criminal case has been initiated under part 1 of article 128 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning incitement to suicide. The suspect is soldier M.M., born in 2006, who is currently in custody at a temporary detention facility in the city of Manas.

The Military Prosecutor's Office noted that all necessary examinations have already begun. A legal assessment of the actions of the employees of the Department of Security and Convoy of the State Penitentiary Service will also be conducted. Investigative authorities continue to determine the possible involvement of other individuals in this incident.

We remind you that on January 5, an 18-year-old serviceman was found dead in correctional facility No. 10, located in the village of Bai-Munduz in the Bazar-Korgon district of the Jalal-Abad region. He served in the battalion of the Department of Security and Convoy of the State Penitentiary Service. According to preliminary data, around 15:25, the soldier shot himself with his service weapon and died at the scene.

Authorities from the department and representatives of law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene of the tragedy. The situation is being examined by the Bazar-Korgon District Police Department and the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Jalal-Abad garrison.
