The Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh approved amendments to certain laws of Kyrgyzstan regarding the inheritance of electronic money in the first reading.

At a meeting of the Committee on Finance, Budget, Entrepreneurship, and Competition Development of the Jogorku Kenesh, the draft law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic on the Issues of Inheriting Electronic Money" was reviewed and approved in the first reading.

The initiator of this draft law was the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Deputy Minister of Justice Zarylbek uulu Almazbek noted that the purpose of the draft law is to eliminate gaps in the legal regulation of electronic money, recognize them as objects of civil rights, and ensure the possibility of inheritance in accordance with the law.

During the discussion, Deputy Ulan Primov emphasized the proposed amendments to Article 22 of the Civil Code concerning electronic money, as well as the amendments to the law on the payment system related to issuers of electronic money. Deputy Dastanbek Jumabekov raised the issue of the legal definition of the term "electronic money." Deputy Dastan Bekeshev clarified how important and appropriate it is to include electronic money in Article 22 of the Civil Code. Deputies Ismanaly Joroev, Talaybek Sarybashov, and Ulanbek Zhaanbaev also raised questions regarding the proposed norms in the field of inheriting electronic money.

The Committee also reviewed and approved the draft law "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On the Exchange of Credit Information'" in the third reading.
