Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan intend to strengthen cooperation in the agricultural sector

- During the first meeting of the Kyrgyz-Tajik Intergovernmental Council, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev held a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan Kurbon Hakimzoda. This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet.

During the meeting, key areas for deepening bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector were discussed.

Among the issues raised during the negotiations were the enhancement of the genetic potential of livestock through the exchange of breeding bulls and yaks, as well as the improvement and modernization of cotton processing. The exchange of experiences in crop production and animal husbandry and the expansion of joint research initiatives were also discussed.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed on the necessity to develop specific cooperation projects and to create a working group to formulate a roadmap for joint initiatives. Within the framework of this cooperation, the development of specialist exchange programs, the organization of seminars, and the upgrading of personnel qualifications are planned.

This meeting was an important step in strengthening Kyrgyz-Tajik relations in the field of agronomy.
