Exchange of livestock, cotton processing. What else was agreed upon by Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan
On February 13, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev held a working meeting with Kurbon Hakimzoda, the Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan.
During the negotiations, according to the press service of the Government of Kyrgyzstan, the focus was on key areas of bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector. The main topics of discussion included enhancing the genetic potential of livestock through the exchange of breeding bulls and yaks, as well as modernizing cotton processing. Additionally, the parties exchanged practical experiences in crop production and animal husbandry, which will allow for the expansion of scientific research.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to prepare specific projects for cooperation and to establish a working group of experts to develop a roadmap for joint initiatives. As part of this work, it is also planned to organize specialist exchange programs, conduct seminars, and enhance staff qualifications.
It is important to note that this meeting took place in the context of the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
