Agreement Signed with ADB on the Financial Market Development Project for Small and Medium Enterprises in the Kyrgyz Republic

The meeting between the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, and the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Tsou Jia, recently took place.
According to the government press service, Kasymaliev congratulated Tsou Jia on his election and expressed hope for productive cooperation that could expand partnerships and open new horizons.

Speaking about the state of the country's economy, the Chairman of the Cabinet noted that in recent years, thanks to effective financial and monetary policy, Kyrgyzstan has demonstrated positive growth results, averaging 10.2% over the past four years.

Kasymaliev also added that within the framework of the "Government Accelerators" program, 12 reforms have been successfully implemented, which received high praise at the World Government Summit held in early February this year in Dubai.

During the discussion, issues related to the energy sector were also addressed. The head of the government emphasized that the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 project will bring significant economic, environmental, and social benefits.

In addition, he highlighted the importance of implementing the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project and proposed creating a credit line between the AIIB and state banks to finance priority areas such as the agricultural sector, energy, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The President of the AIIB, Tsou Jia, in turn, expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of Kyrgyzstan's economic growth and confirmed readiness to explore opportunities for cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, an agreement was signed on the project "Development of a Sustainable Financial Market for Small and Medium Enterprises in the Kyrgyz Republic" between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
