The Housing Committee approved in the first reading the protocol on 33 amendments to the EAEU Agreement
Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Sultan Akhmatov provided information on the content of the protocol.
He emphasized that the document contains 33 amendments aimed at addressing shortcomings identified during the law enforcement practice. The amendments include clarifications in the definitions used in the Treaty, as well as empowering the Eurasian Economic Commission to approve the methodology for determining barriers in the internal market of the EAEU and recognizing obstacles as eliminated.
The aim of these changes is to improve the functioning of the EAEU, remove barriers in the internal market, and enhance the enforcement of Union norms. They take into account the experience of five years of applying the Treaty and are aimed at simplifying procedures, increasing transparency, and protecting the interests of the member states.
The Committee approved the draft law in the first reading.
