
During the discussion of the draft law, Benazir Nurlanova emphasized that the document aims to create conditions for economically justified prices, as well as to protect the interests of the population and improve the quality of life in the country. The draft law proposes to regulate prices in such a way as to ensure business development and prevent unjustified price increases.
Deputy Marlen Mamataliyev raised questions about the regulation of 16 types of socially significant goods, while Kamila Talieva expressed support for the draft law. She noted that the sharp increase in tuition fees in universities on a contractual basis over the past two years raises serious concerns, highlighting the need to consider citizens' interests in the pricing process.
Zhenaly Orozbaev, chairman of the Antimonopoly Regulation Service, pointed out that since 2016 higher education has been excluded from direct state price control, but it is time to bring this sector back under regulation. His opinion was supported by a deputy.
Deputy Zhanibek Abirov also emphasized the need to strengthen the antimonopoly service's control over prices for socially significant goods.
In addition, the Committee reviewed and approved the draft law "On Ratification of the Protocol Amending the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union," which was signed on July 28, 2025, in Moscow. The amendments to the Protocol aim to eliminate legal gaps, clarify terminology, and empower the Eurasian Economic Commission to approve the methodology for identifying barriers in the Union's internal market.
