It is expected that this year the launch of the second unit at the Kambaratinskaya HPP-2 will begin, along with the reconstruction of the Uch-Kurgan HPP.
The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan continues to work on projects aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of the hydropower sector. In 2026, JSC ‘Electric Stations’ plans to carry out major works at several important hydropower plants.
This spring, the commissioning of the second hydropower unit at the Kambaratinskaya HPP-2 is scheduled. At the same time, the reconstruction of two units at the Uch-Kurgan HPP will begin: work on unit No. 2 will start in February, and on unit No. 1 — from March 1. The parallel modernization will allow for a comprehensive update of the station's equipment.
At the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1, construction and infrastructure works are ongoing. The interior finishing of the administrative and household complex is nearing completion, while engineering communications are being laid and internal partitions are being installed in the under-construction dormitory.
Additionally, at the Kurp-Sai HPP, the replacement of two autotransformers (AT-1 and AT-2) at the 220 kV switchyard has begun to increase capacity. The delivery of the necessary equipment is expected in January and March 2026, with installation starting on April 1 and concluding by autumn.
It is also reported that a new administrative building for company employees will be put into operation. In 2026, a phased update of the administrative premises of the branches of JSC ‘Electric Stations’ is planned.
All these activities are coordinated by the Ministry of Energy and are aimed at the sustainable development of hydropower and strengthening the country's energy system.
