The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan continues to implement a number of projects aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of hydropower plants in the country.
According to the department, JSC "Electric Stations" plans to begin the scheduled work on key facilities in the energy sector in 2026.
In particular, the commissioning of the second hydro unit of the Kambarata-2 HPP is expected in the spring, which is part of the ministry's program activities aimed at gradually increasing the generating capacity of the station.
Additionally, the reconstruction of two hydro units at the Uch-Kurgan HPP will also start in the spring. Work on hydro unit No. 2 will begin in February, while work on hydro unit No. 1 will start on March 1. The parallel implementation of these works will allow for effective equipment upgrades at the station.
At the Kambarata-1 HPP, construction and modernization of infrastructure are ongoing. Finishing works are actively being carried out in the administrative and household complex, and the installation of sewage and water supply systems, as well as internal partitions, is underway in the building of the dormitory under construction.
At the Kurpsai HPP, work has begun on the replacement of two autotransformers (AT-1 and AT-2) in the 220 kV switchgear to increase the capacity of the station. The delivery of the first autotransformer is scheduled for January 2026, and the second for March. Installation work will begin on April 1, 2026, and will be completed by autumn, significantly expanding the capabilities of the Kurpsai HPP.
Also, in 2026, it is planned to carry out phased repair work in the administrative buildings of the branches of JSC "Electric Stations."
