The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has announced the introduction of a tariff exemption for the import of cocoa butter. This information was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Water Management and Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the new regulation, an exemption from import customs duties for cocoa butter under the EAEU commodity code 1804000000 is provided for up to 300 tons per year.

This exemption will be in effect annually and may be extended until April 30, 2027.

As emphasized in the statement, "this decision is aimed at supporting confectionery and food enterprises in the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), as well as at developing domestic production and increasing added value within the union."

Imported cocoa butter may only be used for processing and production of finished products within the corresponding EAEU member country. The use of this raw material for other purposes is strictly prohibited.

This requirement, as noted, is intended to stimulate local production and enhance the competitiveness of goods produced within the union.
