At the initiative of Kyrgyzstan, a decision was made to provide tariff benefits on certain types of beef. These benefits will be in effect until the end of 2026, as reported at a press conference at the "Kabar" agency by Elimbek Kanybek uulu, head of the EAEU Coordination Department of the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan.
He specified that the measures pertain to products classified under the EAEU customs codes 0202301004 (frozen hindquarters of beef without bones), 0202305004 (frozen forequarters of beef without bones), and 0202309004 (various parts of beef without bones, including mixtures of parts). The volume of imported meat is set at 5,000 tons. Previously, an import duty of 15% was applied to this volume, which has now been reduced to 0%.
Kyrgyzstan has also been granted a benefit on goods under the commodity position 3403 91 000 9 of the EAEU customs code, for a period of three years, intended for the processing of textile materials, leather, and fur, as well as for the chemical industry.
Additionally, a similar tariff benefit has been established for cocoa butter, which will be in effect until December 31, 2028. The annual import volume under the EAEU customs code 1804 000 000 will amount to 300 tons.
Furthermore, Kyrgyzstan has been granted a benefit on the import of raw cane sugar. The exemption from customs duties will apply to a volume of 20,000 tons until the end of 2026.
Elimbek Kanybek uulu also reported that the EEC Council approved the extension of tariff benefits on turboprop civil passenger aircraft for Kyrgyzstan until December 31, 2028, with the number of such aircraft being 2 units. This decision is aimed at updating the country's aviation fleet and expanding the network of air transportation both within the country and between the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.
