At a meeting of the "Ala-Too" deputy group, the head of the "Legprom" association, Azamat Kerimbek uulu, expressed the opinion that stagnation in Russia will inevitably affect producers from Kyrgyzstan.

He noted that the patent system for the garment industry was introduced in 2003 and was abolished in 2023. During this period, 9,800 workshops and individual entrepreneurs in the textile sector were registered. However, since 2023, 23,000 individual entrepreneurs have registered on Wildberries, and 7,000 on Ozon.

“Where are the others? Correct, they are in the shadow economy. They need to be brought to light,” emphasized Kerimbek uulu.

He also added that previously entrepreneurs could obtain a patent for 1,500-3,000 soms, but now a unified tax system is in place.

“There are two regimes: wholesale and retail trade — 2% of turnover and a simplified system for producers — 0.25%. This is a positive aspect, but there are also negative consequences: sales have decreased, and all products are being exported to Russia. In 2023, the share of online trade was 63%, and now it is already 92%. Marketplaces are capturing the offline trade market. With the closure of the border with Russia on September 15, sales have decreased, and logistics costs have risen: cargo prices have increased from 50 to 200 soms. There are no goods from Kyrgyzstan in "Sadovy" and "Lyublano," all of them have gone to online trade,” he added.

Kerimbek uulu also reported that in 2023, former Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov met with the founder of Wildberries, Tatyana Kim.

“At that time, she requested a plot of land for a logistics center. We agreed. But after that, she went to Uzbekistan, where documents were signed immediately, and now a distribution center of 100,000 square meters is being built there, which will be launched this year. While we were inactive, Uzbekistan seized the opportunity. However, they are not part of the Customs Union, while we are. We still have opportunities,” he emphasized.

Kerimbek uulu also noted that stagnation is expected in Russia in 2026-2027: inflation will rise, wages will remain at the same level, and purchasing power will decrease. This will affect us, and the number of orders will decrease. Therefore, a comprehensive solution to the problem is necessary,” he addressed the deputies.

It should be noted that Wildberries has launched a new logistics center in the Sergeli district of Tashkent. The complex consists of two blocks with a total area of 53,000 square meters and is capable of processing up to 500,000 orders per day. According to Russian officials, Wildberries plans to create the largest logistics center in Uzbekistan, covering 100,000 square meters. Investments in the project exceed 11 billion rubles, and the number of new jobs will be about 7,500.
