As reported by the Daily Express, during hearings in the House Intelligence Committee of the U.S. Congress on March 19, Gabbard clarified that the current situation in the Iranian leadership remains uncertain, and it is unclear who is making key decisions.

At the same time, the day before, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated in an interview with Al Jazeera that Khamenei sustained only minor injuries and feels "in good health".

Mojahed Khamenei, who has become the new Supreme Leader of Iran, is the second son of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He has spent most of his life out of the public eye, rarely appearing in public or leading Friday prayers. During the Iran-Iraq war, he served in a battalion of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. He is currently 56 years old and is known for his strict conservative views.
