It is important to note that news of his election became known on March 4, however, at that time, the authorities in Tehran denied this information, emphasizing that a final decision would be made on March 8. Ayatollah Hossein Mozaffari also commented on this information, mentioning that the Assembly of Experts has not held any meetings at this time and urged citizens not to spread false rumors about the new leader of the country.

Mojtaba Khamenei, who is 56 years old, is a Shia cleric and the second son of Ali Khamenei, who was killed by American forces. He holds an important position in the Iranian political and religious elite and has long worked within the office of the Supreme Leader, maintaining close ties with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
