In Iran, the consequences of strikes on oil storage facilities were assessed
Ismail Hosseini, a representative of the parliamentary energy commission, noted that only four storage facilities were affected. He added: "These attacks only impacted four oil storage facilities. Thanks to preemptive measures and the availability of additional reserves, the population should not worry about gasoline and energy supplies. There will be no queues at gas stations," reports the ILNA agency.
According to official information, the damages affected individual elements of the infrastructure, but the country still has backup capacity and additional fuel reserves.
The strikes on Iran were carried out on February 28, when Israel and the U.S. launched attacks. Donald Trump announced the intention to destroy the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic.
In response to these actions, Iran began attacking territories in Israel and other countries in the Middle East where U.S. military bases are located. Strikes were carried out against countries such as Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai (UAE), as well as Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
As a result of the U.S.-Israeli operation, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed, and shortly after, his wife Mansoureh Khodjasteh died from her injuries.
Donald Trump noted that the military operation in Iran would last about four weeks. A jihad against the U.S. and Israel has been declared in Iran, with authorities emphasizing that there will be no negotiations.
The situation in the Middle East has global implications, including for Kyrgyzstan. As a result of the conflict, thousands of tourists have been stranded in the UAE. The phone numbers of embassies and consulates for Kyrgyz citizens abroad can be found here.
