In the morning hours of February 28, Israel and the United States conducted airstrikes against Iran. Donald Trump confirmed plans to destroy Iran's nuclear program.
In response, Iran began striking U.S. military bases in Israel and other Middle Eastern countries, including Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai (UAE), as well as Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
As a result of the strike by American and Israeli forces, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed. Later, his wife, Mansure Khodjasteh, died from injuries sustained in the attack.
Donald Trump stated that military actions in Iran would last about four weeks. In response, Iran declared jihad against the U.S. and Israel, stating that negotiations were unacceptable.
The situation in the region is affecting the entire world, including Kyrgyzstan. As a result of the conflict, thousands of tourists are stranded in the UAE. Phone numbers for embassies and consulates for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic abroad can be found here.
