From April 22 to 24, 2026, Astana will host the Regional Ecological Summit 2026. This event is organized by the government of Kazakhstan in collaboration with international and regional partners.

Under the motto "A Shared Vision for a Sustainable Future," the summit will gather global and regional leaders, experts, and representatives of international organizations. Over the course of three days, participants will be able to engage in plenary sessions and more than 20 thematic sessions.

Participation is also expected from the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, the President of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, and the President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh.

The organizers emphasize that the summit will serve as an important platform for discussing environmental and climate issues affecting the economic stability and security of the population of Central Asia, as well as the long-term development of the region. Key topics will include water scarcity, glacier melting, land degradation, and biodiversity loss.

Summit participants will discuss ways to develop regional cooperation, attract climate financing, create early warning systems, and strengthen the resilience of energy, water, and food systems.

The event program covers eight key thematic areas.

Among them, topics such as the transition to a green economy, enhancing climate resilience, natural resource management, food and water security, mechanisms for achieving environmental goals, inclusive transition, and the use of technologies and digital solutions for shaping a sustainable future stand out.

The organizers believe that the Regional Ecological Summit could become a permanent platform for strategic dialogue and coordination of efforts among the countries of the region on issues of ecology, climate, and sustainable development.
