In Minneapolis, as reported by CNN, federal immigration service ICE agents shot a 37-year-old man named Alex Pretty, who was a U.S. citizen and worked as a nurse in the intensive care unit. According to the city’s police chief, Brian O'Hara, Pretty was not resisting.

According to eyewitness accounts, the man approached the scene with a phone and was trying to help a woman who was reportedly attacked with pepper spray. At the same time, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security stated that Pretty had a firearm, but did not clarify whether he posed any threat.

After the incident, a crowd gathered at the scene, expressing dissatisfaction with the actions of ICE agents and demanding that they leave the city.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz addressed the White House, calling for an end to ICE operations, stating that "Minnesota is tired of this. It is unacceptable." He expressed his opinion on the social network X, urging the president to intervene.

This shooting occurred against the backdrop of growing protests against ICE actions in Minnesota. Recall that on January 7, during a similar raid, a 37-year-old woman, Rene Nicole Good, was shot, who, according to authorities, attempted to run over an agent with her car, although video of the incident did not confirm this version. These events have sparked mass demonstrations against immigration services in the U.S.
