In Minneapolis, a person was shot again during a raid on illegal migrants.
This is the second case in which a civilian has become a victim of the actions of government officials.
A mass protest against ICE took place in the city, with estimates of participation ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 people. Protesters demanded accountability for the agent who shot a woman several weeks ago.
Witnesses reported that several law enforcement officers first knocked the man to the ground, struck him several times, and then fired shots right in front of a café.
In an official statement from the city hall published on social media platform X, it was stated: “We continue to work on clarifying the details of what happened. We ask residents to remain calm and avoid the area.”
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz expressed dissatisfaction regarding “yet another horrific incident” and reported that he discussed the situation with the president's administration. He noted: “Minnesota is tired of this. It is unacceptable” and urged President Donald Trump to immediately withdraw “thousands of brutal and untrained officers” from the state.
It is worth noting that at the end of December last year, ICE began the Metro Surge operation in Minnesota, aimed at identifying, detaining, and deporting illegal migrants.
