In his debut match at the tournament, Akmataliev defeated the reigning European champion from Russia, Ibrahim Ibrahimov, who competed in the weight category up to 65 kg.
After the match, Ibrahimov shared his impressions in an interview with journalist Vladislav Abdusalamov.
“The score was 3:0, everything was going well. We trained a lot together; he is a good opponent with experience. Everything went smoothly, but at the very end, I made a mistake. I tried to push him out of the mat, but in the end, I gave away two points. I have other goals ahead — the World Championship and the Russian Championship. These tournaments are an opportunity to learn from my mistakes,” noted Ibrahimov.
