Asian Cup (U-23): How did Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam play earlier? Results

On January 9, the youth national team of Kyrgyzstan (U-23) will play their second match at the Asian Cup taking place in Saudi Arabia.

On this day, they will face the team from Vietnam.

In the first round, which took place on January 6, the Kyrgyz team suffered a defeat against Saudi Arabia, while the Vietnamese team won against Jordan.

At the youth national team level, Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam have met twice.

The first match took place at the Asian Games in Korea in 2014, where the teams met in the final round of the group stage. In this match, the Vietnamese team won narrowly with a score of 1:0, with the only goal scored from a penalty.



According to the tournament rules, the team at the Asian Games could include three older players. In that match, Kyrgyzstan was represented by Valery Kashuba, Cholponbek Esenkul uulu, and Azamat Baymatov, as well as Valery Kichin, Farhat Musabekov, Kairat Zhyrgalbek uulu, and Murolim Akhmedov.

The second match between the Olympic teams took place in 2023 at an international tournament in Qatar. The regular time ended in a 0:0 draw, with the Kyrgyz team finishing the match with fewer players after Midin Kerezbekov was sent off. In the end, in the penalty shootout, the national team of Kyrgyzstan won with a score of 5:4.
