
The Asian Championship in Wrestling has kicked off in Bishkek. On the first day of competition, five representatives of Kyrgyzstan competed in the Greco-Roman wrestling category.
Three of them - Aftandil Taalaybek uulu (63 kg), Akjol Mahmudov (77 kg), and Asan Janishov (87 kg) - managed to win their semifinal matches, advancing to the finals.
Ulan Muratbek uulu and Roman Kim, unfortunately, lost in the semifinals and quarterfinals but will continue to fight for bronze medals.
The final matches and bronze medal bouts will take place on April 7.
The matchups for April 7 are as follows:
Up to 55 kg, bronze: Ulan Muratbek uulu - Mohammad Panahisani (Iran)
Up to 63 kg, final: Aftandil Taalaybek uulu - Erfan Jarkani (Iran)
Up to 77 kg, final: Akjol Mahmudov - Ali Zabiholla Osko (Iran)
Up to 87 kg, final: Asan Janishov - Golamreza Farokhisenjani (Iran)
Up to 130 kg, bronze: Roman Kim - Kim Minsok (Korea)
The Kyrgyzstan team is demonstrating high preparedness and aims to win the maximum number of medals at this championship.
