Asian Championship in Bishkek: Three Kyrgyzstani athletes reached the final on the first day

The Asian Wrestling Championship has kicked off in Bishkek, where three representatives from Kyrgyzstan reached the finals on the first day.

On April 6, the semifinal and final matches took place in five weight categories of Greco-Roman wrestling.

Five Kyrgyz wrestlers stepped onto the mat, four of whom managed to reach the semifinals.

In the evening session of the competition, Aftandil Talaybek uulu, Akjol Mahmudov, and Asan Janyshov confidently defeated their opponents and secured spots in the finals.

Unfortunately, Ulan Muratbek uulu was unable to win his match for a place in the final and will now compete for the bronze medal.

Roman Kim started with a victory but lost in the quarterfinals to the world and Asian champion from Iran. The Iranian reached the final, while the Kyrgyz wrestler will now fight for bronze.

The matches for the bronze medals and the final bouts in these weight categories will take place on April 7.
